Five Minute Friday: Waking Up

It’s that time again…Five minute Friday with The Gypsy Mama!!!

Five minutes to write about whatever prompt she’s given.  No editing, no thinking and rethinking wording, just type it on the keys as it’s falling out of your head.

This week’s prompt:  Waking Up

It kinda made me giggle when I saw this week’s prompt was “Waking Up,” considering that has pretty much been the opposite of what I’ve done this week.  I feel like I have slept through this week, at least the daytime parts of it anyway.  In the mornings, I’m good but by lumptime….haha well that’s appropriate…I meant lunchtime, I’m pooped and can barely hold my eyes open. 

I think maybe it’s that I still haven’t caught up from the weekend.  Saturday was an amazing day!  I had the opportunity to help lead worship for an hour at a prayer event called The Burn, which was AH-mazing!  And then from there, I rushed home, changed clothes and then it was to church for our Saturday night service which was also AH-mazing!  By the time I got home I was exhasuted.

And for some reason or another, I haven’t been able to sleep very well at night this week.  God keeps wanting to wake me up in the middle of the night.  But I guess He can do that if He wants…I mean He is God.  And I love middle of the night time with Him anyway.  The house is quite and peaceful and I can actually think straight and focus on listening.  And I kinda like that He wakes me up with stuff because that means He wanted my attention and well that’s pretty AH-mazing too!!

  1. I can totally relate to the lumptime slump. For weeks and weeks I was semi-awake every night with pain. I couldn’t figure out why I was SO tired until I took a break from my PT for a week. What a difference uninterrupted sleep makes!

    • I’m so glad you figured out where the pain was coming from so you could get some good sleep! It does make such a big difference in my day when I’ve slept well the night before. Thanks for popping by!!

  2. Haha! I love the “or not” part of your title! Sleeping is one of my favorites, but I have four little people that wake me up every morning. But, I do find myself drifting away again at “lumptime” or shortly thereafter…

  3. I hate it when we wake in the middle of the night you have a good outlook. Maybe if I think of it as God nudging me to spend time with Him it would not be so bad. I find I have so much more energy when I take a good multi-vitamin and get some exercise. Lumptime was too funny!
